DAY 2 Cape
The Deluxe PAK Tour enables you to see all the sites plus explore all the amazing wildlife at the Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas entry included, then treat yourself to a yummy lunch included at Cape Trib Beach House in Cape Tribulation.
Cape Tribulation is located in the heart of the Daintree National Park World Heritage Area which contains the oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests in the world. Estimated to be over 100 million years old, the Wet Tropics area is home to around 50% of Australia's plant and animal species with many species found nowhere else in the world.
The drive between Cairns and Cape Tribulation weaves its way past beautiful white sandy beaches and some of the most picturesque scenery in Australia. Cape Tribulation itself has population of only 103 residence and their eco-friendly accommodation is set beautifully amongst flora and fauna of the rainforest.
Cairns to Port Douglas Scenic Drive - Cook Highway
The scenic drive to Port Douglas is an experience in itself, winding along the coastline, you will get an appreciation of the diverse environments here in the North.
Port Douglas Located 1,780km north of Brisbane and 70km north of Cairns, Port Douglas is a resort village situated between Cairns and the World Heritage-listed rainforests of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
Rainforest Habitat Port Douglas (DELUXE PAK)
A meandering walkway allows the visitor to experience different levels of the rainforest and the varied microenvironments encapsulated within. The Wildlife Habitat is a partner with The Wet Tropics Management in the goal of rainforest conservation and education.
Daintree River Ferry
The Daintree River Ferry, 50km north of Port Douglas, is the only way to cross the river. It operates on a cable system and is capable of taking up to 16 vehicles across the river at a time. This is the only cable ferry operating in a World Heritage area in the world.
Alexandra Lookout - Daintree National Park A gorgeous view back over the Daintree Rainforest and the mouth of the Daintree River, and out across the coral sea you can see the inner reefs of the Great Barrier Reef.
Cape Tribulation Beach Cape Tribulation's history starts 120 million years ago when the giant continent 'Gondwana' was covered in dense rainforests and dinosaurs roamed around the jungle.
Lunch at Cape Tribulation Beach (DELUXE PAK) Indulge in a set menu choice of local barramundi (fish), steak and a vegetarian option all served with a fresh garden salad and chips, daily baked bread finished off with a tropical fruit platter to share at your table.
Mardja Rainforest Walk It’s quite possible that within your first 100 meters of setting foot in Mardja you’ll have already passed by more species of tree than exist in all of the mainland of the United States and Canada combined.
Daintree River Cruise - Crocodile Express The tour runs through the saltwater mangrove and rainforest habitat in the lower Daintree River or the freshwater pasture lands and rainforest upstream from the Daintree Village.
Rex Lookout - Cook Highway The lookout offers an unforgettably stunning vista across the Coral Sea and coastal landscape, a chance to see the full splendor of the Great Barrier Reef. On weekends, hang gliders use the lookout as a Launchpad.
